LIGHT FIXTURES of glass, metal, or ceramic, when custom created, lend a special accent to a space. More than just lighting, they serve as illuminated art. Sconces, table and floor lamps, ceiling fixtures, and chandeliers can all be custom created for the tailored scale and style that is unique to your space.
This kiln formed glass and ceramic light sculpture, created by Craig Mitchell, is a complete statement. Both functional and aesthetic, it can be used as a wall piece, a floor lamp, or set on a pedestal or table.
WATER FEATURES affect ambiance, acoustics, air quality, and a sense of well-being. No other special feature has so much versatility combined with utility. When placed with living walls or other plant-scapes, these ion generating fountains and pools create a natural setting that brings comfort and calm to any space.
Our hotel water feature is a prominent piece of this courtyard’s charm. The copper pan was designed as a pool and weir to ensconce the large ceramic pot that is the fountain element. Water cascades over the weir and makes just the right amount of trickling sound as it flows into the long running channel that recycles the water.
FURNITURE DESIGN is as unique as your project. Made from a multitude of materials that include cast concrete, welded steel, unusual woods, kiln formed glass, and bronze, these creations are only limited by gravity! Dining tables, built-in entertainment units, coffee tables, fire feature tables, one-of-kind chairs, and unique shelving are all a part of our design ideas.
The Pensione Hotel needed furniture for the courtyard that promoted community and conversation. We designed our “yin-yang” fire pit tables to not only be in the round for conversation, but also to symbolize the circle of life.
This dining table is made from an unusual African wood and is mounted on a welded steel base. Both wood finish and metal patina are carefully hand applied and customized to the over-all color scheme and design plan.
This console table is a functional art piece. The “Terroir” table has a bronze base cast from the cane and vine of a pinot grape vine. The glass top was kiln formed as an abstract topographic map of Northern California’s wine country.
CUSTOM ACCESSORIES are a variety of detail options that are hand-created just for your project. These include pillows, bolsters, duvet covers, window treatments, and decorative lamps and shades.
When our Glen Ellen client needed to dress up the master bedroom we designed a custom headboard to complement the existing bedside tables. We also fabricated layers of exquisite pillows as art for the bed.
ARCHITECTURAL DETAILING includes decorative borders, friezes, stencils, insert panels, murals, and textural relief panels. Applications are both two and three dimensional installations such as fireplace mantels and surrounds, coffered ceilings, decorative moldings and trim, sculptural borders and friezes, and three dimensional sculptures of all kinds.
This coffered ceiling, designed by Robert Wright, utilizes our hand painted, traditional stencil designs applied on panels and then finished with an “aging” glaze to add the look of antiquity.

Murals and Decorative Art
Patterns, textures, and imagery can tell a story that solid colors cannot. Decorative design for walls, ceilings, floors, and/or furniture acts like a glue that binds décor elements together. Art and decorative motif is an important architectural enhancer and a powerful design device.
Water (Special) Features
Special features include fountains, fireplaces, Lit or sound elements, and living walls or edible gardens. Often water features incorporate all of these when planned into a whole environment. Used for ambiance and sound modulation, water elements are very effective and create a sense of well-being. Combined with fire features, like fire-pit tables or decorative torches, they create balance and harmony in any area.
